Licensed Tree & Shrub Technician
Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan
Pay Range: $24–$30 per hour (based on experience and licensing)
Position Overview
- Responsible for the health care, and treatment of ornamental trees and shrubs on residential and commercial properties
- Focus on high-quality plant health care and professional client service
Responsibilities
- Apply tree and shrub treatments, including fertilization, insect control, disease control, and soil health applications
- Diagnose pest, disease, and nutrient deficiencies in trees and shrubs
- Mix, apply, and document pesticides and fertilizers in compliance with Michigan regulations
- Monitor plant health and recommend corrective actions or additional services
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding plant conditions and care recommendations
- Maintain accurate service records and application logs
- Operate and maintain spray equipment, trucks, and tools
- Follow all safety procedures, label requirements, and environmental best practices
Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Pesticide Applicator License (3A + 3B)
- Strong knowledge of trees, shrubs, insects, and plant diseases common to Southeast Michigan
- Previous experience in tree and shrub care, lawn care, or horticulture preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage daily routes efficiently
- Valid Chauffeur's driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift equipment and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
